The Men’s squad produced another strong performance this weekend at Tyne United Small boat’s Head. Michael Foulks, Hugh Crawshaw, Henry Brown and Rob Sinclair narrowly pipped Hild Bede to claim the fastest college time, Fiona Hardyman, J-L Wilkinson, Tim Seeger, James Coupland and Ed Williams also produced a quick time coming in as 5th fastest college four, which overall is very promising for the coming season. The Novice four of Jess Hof, Dafydd Jones, Jean-Seb Connell, Alex Ralfs and George Repper also had a strong row into some dry tough conditions, many of the crew’s first time to the Tyne- quite a change from the sheltered Wear. Special mentions to Henry, James and Jean-Seb for their first race for Cuth’s, fitting in well with the squad and contributing successfully to boat speed!

Both women’s fours performed well at Tyne Small Boats’ Head this Saturday. The IM3 four of Jess Wood, Claire Adams, Tabitha Serle and Vixy McNish coxed by Michael Webb was third fastest in their category, and second fastest Durham college overall. The second IM3 four of Ella Spencer, Connie Reid, Hester Carter and Caitlin Helmers coxed by Alistair Stewart also did well, beating a number of other colleges. The women’s squad is looking forward to York Small Boats Head in November.
