North East Indoor Rowing Championships

A massive well done to everyone who raced at NEIRC on Wednesday! The results are now up at dubc.co.uk.
First up was J-L Wilkinson in the openweight men – he won college openweights with a time of 6.26, also beating a number of DUBC rowers and came 9th out of 29 rowers when including all of the university rowers.

Next up were Anna Green and Kiera Rosenwold rowing in college openweight women, they came 3rd and 4th in college women with times of 7.33 and 7.36 also beating a number of university rowers. Including university rowers they came 7th and 11th out of 16 rowers.
Then Andy Bridgman and Will Moreland came 2nd and 3rd in college lightweight men, with times of 6.51 and 6.59, overall coming 6th and 7th out of 10 including university lightweight men.
Lucy Iball then won women’s college lightweights in a time of 7.43, beating all of the university lightweights to come 1st overall. 

Then it was the team races time! Cuth’s Senior Men came 3rd out of 10 and the novice men came 7th out of 10, and were the fastest novice men to race.
Finally, the Cuth’s A (Anna Green, Sasha Storey, Charlie Denney & Kiera Rosenwold) won the women’s team event with an average split of 1.48, and Cuth’s B (Ffion Roberts, Jessica Wood, Tabitha Serle & Lucy Iball) came 2nd out of 9 with an average split of 1.49.
 
Overall it was a great performance by the club, with its best results ever at the event, and some of the best results of all the colleges! A huge congratulations to all those who stepped up for this extra event, and thanks to the few of you who came down to support.
